Our country has kept the tradition of creating, collecting, protecting, and utilizing documents for a long time. Although Chinggis Khan established the Mongolian Great State in 1206 and issued an order to Mongolians not only to use the old Mongolian script in conformity with the State script, but also to write documents on white paper with dark Mongolia separated itself from the Manchu dynasty and conserved the records issuing new orders. /1911/ The Sutra writing Institution, the first Mongolian science organization, was established and began to collect all the rare books and sutras related to the history of Mongolia, and it led to the organization of the National Archives. /1921/
· Established as the Central Archival Organization under the Scientific Institution /1948/ · Reorganized as the State Archival Administration, with its major function to manage archival affairs throughout the country. /1957/ · State archival administration was under Ministry of Home affairs. /1960/ · Related to direct Government, with its structure and number of employees expanded. /1990/ · Reorganized as the Government Implementing Agency- National Archives of Mongolia. /1996/ · Reorganized as the Government Implementing Agency- General Archival Authority of Mongolia. /2009/ |

Manchu became powerful at the middle of the XIV century, took China and Mongolia, and made new administrative structures; thereafter, all the documents were systemized and inherited.
The Modern Mongolian archival organization was founded, according to the 10th resolution of the Sutra writing institution, the first archive worker was made responsible for archival records. /December 05, 1927/
